This may sound a little bit petty but its something thats kinda bugging me,i
dont like large text in messenger and have always had the font size set to 8.

For a while now the font size seems to be stuck at 10 for my messenger,
regardless of how i change it, every time i open a new window or reopen a
window, the font size is reset to 10 instead of 8 what i've set it to.

Any idea why and how to fix this?

tjhanks,.

Greetings,

Which font are you trying to use?

One workaround is to increase the size locally. To do so, press Alt on the keyboard in a
conversation window, choose the Tools menu, then Text Size, and choose something larger.

I've trying to use either Verdana or Tahoma, i've just downlaoded the latest
version of Windows Live Messenger and i'm on Windows Vista Business.

It simply wont go any lower than size 10 for whatever reason.

Sorry about the previous post. I have had this problem since Version 8.1, and
I use Verdana. I am currently using the 8.5 BETA 2 and this problem still
persists. I am also using Vista home premium.

Hi,

My apologies, for some reason I had it in my brain that you wanted to go bigger. In general,
it won't allow you to go larger then 10 I'm afraid.

You can however use the same trick in my last post to make it even smaller than the default,
but the change will only affect your local display and your contact will not see the
difference.

Hi Shawn,

Yes, I have the exact same problem... if you try to change the font size to
below 10pt, it just seems to ignore it and go back to 10pt anyway...

I'm on Windows Live Messenger build 8.1.0178.00 on a windows vista ultimate
machine...

Regards,
Chris.

I've been having the same problem too (of course) but I found a solution, and
I'm sure that there are others that would like to know this as well.

Open a conversation window
Hit ALT
Tools
Text Size >
Select "Smallest"

I'm having the exact same problem. Messenger 8.1 on Vista Business. Annoying
as heck, since I usually set my font to 8.
