How do I specify the font, color, etc. of my text? I used to do that in
Outlook Express.

Of what, outgoing messages you are composing?
Select HTML format.

Precisely as you did that with OE, by using the tools on the 'Edit-toolbar'
(not sure if this is the official name) at the top of the area in which you
type your text.
Of course this does not work with 'plain text' format (just as with OE),
therefore in the 'New mail' window on the 'Format' menue 'Rich text (HTML)'
has to be selcted.
