news: oups.com...
| I've run into a bizarre situation. I have a Windows 2003 server
| running SP1. Sometime in March, it appears as though updates have
| stopped installing properly. If I use the "Microsoft Update" website
| and use the "Review your Update History" link, the site indicates that
| all updates are installed properly. KB907747 dated 5.11 (the latest
| Exchange IME filter) for example is listed as installed....according to
| Microsoft Update.
|
| When I go to "Add/Remove Programs" and check the Exchange updates
| though, the latest IME filter listed there is dated 03.09, so the 05.11
| update is either not installed, or not listed properly in the registry.
|
| This is just one example, and the easiest to point out since it is
| frequently updated and date stamped, but there are also several
| exchange, win2k3, and MS SQL updates that are not appearing in
| add/remove programs, so I am concerned about the security of my box at
| this time...but I have found no way to force a "real" detection for
| these updates nor can I explain why they aren't showing up as updates
| in add/remove programs.
|
| Thoughts or ideas?
