Force install of downloaded updates

I'm just wondering how folks install the updates once they are downladed to
their clients using WSUS.

Example:

Your maintenance window is every Tuesday night. You set all of your clients
to download and notify new updates. Now all of your machines are primed and
ready to go.

How to press the "go" button for these servers once you hit your window? Do
you use a script? Do you change you GPO settings to download and install?
Other?

Just trying to plan out my install.

Thanks.

I have a small network, so my actual servers are always set to "download and
notify" and I initiate the installation by hand. This is recommended practice
for servers wherever it is feasible. I also always choose the "Custom" option
so I can see which updates are being installed before going ahead, this has
saved my bacon on at least one occasion when (if I remember correctly) a
particular update was unexpectedly applicable to the servers as well as the
desktops.

For desktop machines, I leave them set to install automatically. If you set
them to install on a particular day of the week, and approve the updates a few
days in advance, the installation will only happen when you want it to ...
provided the clients stay on the network, that is.

Harry.
