I fully understand the difference between Microsoft Update, Windows Update,
and Office Update, David.
The link I posted *should* open Office Update. Assuming you have the proper
software installed, the Office Update scan should begin when the page fully
loads.
You can change your default from Microsoft Update to Windows Update:
Go to Microsoft Update (your default now, apparently) > Click on Change
Settings in left pane > Scroll to bottom of page > To Stop Using Microsoft
Update > Disable Microsoft Update software and let me use Windows Update
only (check).
