Perhaps try the WSUS Newsgroup

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...pdate_services
(OE client)
or
(web client)
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...pdate_services

Same link? <w>

That portal has some inconsistencies and omissions in its set of newsgroups.

This one (courtesy of Robear's cross-posting idea using the List portal)
does work.

Hi,

I'm not sure I would have used this list version, longer load times and
you end up with one pretty long scroll bar for the browser window.

Made a note of that - will use both links as follows:-

(web client)
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/com...pdate_services
or (but longer load times)
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...&lang=en&cr=us
or
http://tinyurl.com/r95pe

Torgeir,

Perhaps but did you miss my point? The link you gave is the same
one that Kaylene gave. <w> Which portal were you *really* trying
to point people to? Or put another way which category should it be
found in if they can use that list by category portal? Notice that I have
already proved (using Robear's cross-post) that the one that you and
Kaylene were pointing at does not have an instance of that newsgroup
to automatically resolve itself to. Also notice FWIW that the category
which contains Software Update Services (where one might reasonably
expect to find also WSUS) in fact does not contain WSUS. Example:
[-] English
[-] Redesigned List
[-] Servers
[-] Windows Server
[-] Management
BTW this expansion also contains Windows Update itself so you can find
one of Robear's cross-posts in there and check it for yourself.

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...728&sloc=en-us

E.g. clicking on the link to the cross-post gets
<quote>
Discussion Group not found

I would say those two URL's are not exactly the same:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...pdate_services
and
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/com...pdate_services

Yes, I know, it's a mess.

I have no idea where the WSUS group is in the category hierarchy you
indicate above, I found the http://www.microsoft.com/technet
/community/newsgroups/... link to the WSUS group by clicking on the
"Post in a Newsgroup for Update Services" link found here:
