Foreign text in name and personal message

First of all, this is my first post in the news group. Normally I'd post in
the blog, but I can't seem to find the comment link. It is probably disabled
now or something.

Anyway, on with my comment.

This problem has been going on since WLM 8.0, or even before, but I just did
not realize. It's about the friendly name and personal messages.

As my mother tongue is not English and I do have many friends online who
speak the same language as I do (Thai), I tend to set my personal messages at
times. I do set my friendly name in Thai sometimes too, but quite rarely.
Well, I found out that my Thai name will be changed to some gibberish ASCII
text that nobody can understand unles they have no life and decided to find a
way to translate it everytime his occurs. This was not the case with personal
messaged in 8.0, as they were stored locally. Fine, I bore with it. English
names with Thai personal messages is fine. However, it got worse with 8.1.

As you all know, the personal message is now stored on the server in 8.1. In
my opinion, this should have been done since personal messages was
implemented :/. Anyways, now I can't even set my personal message in Thai.
Even when I have not relogged in yet, my Thai pms will be turned into some
gibberish text. It's even faster than before! (I had to relog in to get my
name to be gibberish in 8.0).

Example:

ทดส*บ (trans. test) --> аё—аё”аёЄаё*аёљ

^I don't know if the board supports foreign text.

-_-" I find this ridiculous. Shouldn't the server be set to Unicode
already??? It doesn't even behave like websites which have European encoding
on... This turns my Thai into some latin with a lot of a's + cyrillic +
greek... Some encoding I've never seen before actually. Please fix this
asap!!!!

Sorry for double posting. I couldn't find a way to edit my post. In case you
are wondering what my versions are (even though I think this is totally a
server side issue), they are:

Windows XP SP2
Windows Live Messenger 8.1.0168.00_ClientV8.1
Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11 (just in case)
