Forgotten password

I have a hotmail account which I've used for many years. Suddenly I cannot
access the account and have forgotten my password. When working through the
reset password screens I receive a message telling me that information has
been sent to the hotmail address to change the password, but I cannot access
the hotmail account to read this message.
I urgently need to access the account for some details on an email. Can you
please advise how I can get into the account.
I have set up a new 'live.co.uk' account specifically to access this section
as I cannot even ask questions without inserting my password. When I try to
Link my old account to this new one, again I have to nter my old password but
as I do not know it, I cannot make the link. How do I get around this. Please
help urgently.

If you can not logon then you must work through the online Hotmail support
forum.
