I added a 2nd Virtual Drive and after reading the forum I found why it didn't
show up; I still need to format it.

I tried to open a cmd window and but Fdisk wasn't available.
I tried Format, but it required that I have the volume name, which for some
reason I couldn't match. It also required me to use FAT32 and didn't allow
NTFS.

I simply want a data & program drive with no OS installed. Can't I easily
do this from cmd window within my XP guest OS?

First, you need to go into disk management under computer management
(right-click My computer, select Management) and initialize and
partition it, after that you can format it (also in the disk
management section)
