Bug #1

Vista does not "see" drive A

Bug #2

Sometimes, when an application install file is on a CD drive, when I try to
install to a partition, Vista reports that there is not enough room on the
partition even though there really is plenty of room.

Though Vista may still have some bugs in it...
floppy support is not one of them.

If there is not drive A: ...the first thing to do is see if the floppy is
set properly in the bios.

As far as #2 ...what app did you try?
the problem might be in the installer...rather than Vista

Try copying the CD's setup files to a folder on your HD and see what happens

I added an external drive B. Now drive A is visible but if I want to see what
is on the floppy in drive A, I must open drive _B_!. If I want to see what is
on the floppy in drive B, I must open drive _A_! Yip!

Copying the setup files to the harddrive solved the problem.
