This security update keeps installing itself over and over again,day after day

I had that happening and I repaired XP - now it just doesn't install. I'd
like to know why as well and/or what to do about it.

When you try to install the security update that security bulletin MS06-033 describes
(917283) on a computer that is running the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, the computer
may stop responding or you may receive the following error code: 0x643 - Applies to
update KB922770 also.

I uninstalled the Framework ver 2 and reinstalled it from the downloaded
file: dotnetfx.exe from Microsoft. I also insured that I had the most
recent MS install file. I have subsequently downloaded and installed the
security update that was a problem.

I am having the same issue, but when trying to uninstall .net Framework 2.0,
I receive the message "The installation source for this product is not
available. Verify that this source exists and that you can access it." This
occurs via both the Add/Remove programs as well as the "installer" method.
Any suggestions?
