I *hate* working in NT. I had almost finished building up
a laptop with NT (which my job dictates; I'd much rather
be using 2k/XP) when I downloaded and installed one of the
security updates from WindowsUpdate... I'm afraid I don't
know which one, wasn't really paying attention. Anyway I
rebooted and whaddayaknow? BSOD! Yay!! I get the Stop
error:

0x00000035 - NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS

I have looked high and low all over the Knowledge Base and
the newsgroups for this error, and have come up empty.
I've just spent several hours building this machine, and
would really rather not have to go back to square one
again. Does anyone know what this error message is, or
how to get around it? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks

ps -- how the hell does this happen? I have no third
party software on this machine outside of Acrobat reader,
I download a Microsoft patch from a Microsoft website and
install it on a Microsoft operating system, and the
f***ing thing crashes. POS!!!

Sorry, just a little frustrated... :P

Most of the NT4 doc is archived. So use the equivalent W2K doc.
This is symptomatic of a driver problem. You might be able to tell
which one by using the third parameter of the STOP message.
E.g. pstat -s lists the memory locations for the drivers and often
you can find that the third parameter is an address which falls somewhere
within a driver module's start and stop addresses. If you have a dump
you can get similar information from a dumpchk of it.

Further diagnosis would be off-topic for this newsgroup.
You will get better help from a newsgroup which specializes in your OS.

Good luck
