Freeze at boot Screen after Windows Update

When i install the following updates and my computer restarts, the windows xp
boot screen appears and the bar at the bottom moves for a bit but then it
freezes and doesn't keep loading. I have to turn of the computer manually, go
into safe mode and use system restore to get it working again. Is it the
update's fault and how can i install the updates without this happening?

Update for Windows Media Format 11 SDK for Windows XP (KB929399)
Update for Windows XP (KB929338)
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - March 2007 (KB890830)

KB29338 makes my computer unable to boot. The boot process freezes before
the splash screen even shows up, and none of the F8 boot options help or work.

I tried the update twice and had the same results both times.

I amhaving same problem - after installation of the pack below my PC goes
into blue screen mode - I use safe mode to reset, but when I download the
updates the cycle starts again - anyone got a fix?

I'm having a similar problem. I followed Freud's manual instructions and when
I tried to 'run' the update, it froze up on the blue screen which said 'it
had shut down windows to prevent damage to my computer'.

You mean KB929338? What applications are running in the background while
you've tried to install KB929338? Do you have (had) any "Tuning" or
"Tweaking" tools in use/used to manipulate Windows (Bootscreen and the
like)?
