Hey guys and girls

I was forced to upgrade to the new MSN Live 8.1. I have downloaded
everything and set up as per normal. But after it finishes installing and i
go to sign in, it will freeze. I've tried for the past 3 days but it still
keeps on freezing. I'm stuck on what to do.

Please help this is driving me mad.

Regards

Greetings,

What you're describing can be typically a wireless router deadlocking Messenger.

Reset the router (aka unplug and plug back in) and if that doesn't resolve it, try seeing if
there's a firmware update for the router at the router manufacturers website.

Failing that, as a workaround for the time being, you can use the updated version of MSN
Messenger 7.0.

To do so, download from here:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/detai...4-9505f47bed45

Then you'll need to engage compatibility mode so it doesn't force you to upgrade. To do so,
go to the \Program files\MSN Messenger folder, right click on the msnmsgr.exe file, choose
Properties, then the Compatibility tab, choose Windows 2000, click OK and then run Messenger
as per normal.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have now downloaded your updated version of msn
7.0. But now everytime i sign off. Then go to sign back in, it will tell me
to down load the new one.

I then have to go back into /program files and do what you told me befor i
can sign back in.

is there anyway this can be resolved.

Thanks
