Could someone tell me if it is possible to change the frequency at which my
computer runs an automatic scan for Windows Updates or turn automatic off?
I don't remember setting it and with dial-up and Win98 (yes, STILL)
I can't do a thing during a scan.
I'd much rather chose it than have it run automatically or at the very least
set it to run less frequently.
NO, it is not in my 'start-up' menu
YES, I've searched everywhere in 'About Windows Update'
YES, I've scanned the Q&As already posted

Have you tried control panel "Automatic Updates"?
