MS tries to display web pages that are localized (in the language of the
country you are currently in), but this is horrible..

how can someone disable this? And how to they know where you are? from the
ip or some setting in windows?

Greetings,

You'll have to provide a reference, in some cases they're using IP lookup, in others Passport
locale.

In my case: I live in the Philippines, I am Dutch and I prefer to have
everything in English. I hate it when a certain language gets shoved down
your throat by some application or website, just because I happen to be in
the Philippines doesnt mean I want everything in Tagalog!
It's easy enough to check the language used on a computer and apply that one
with an option to change it to another language for that particular
application or website.

Hi,

There are plenty of scenarios for this. Unfortunately there hasn't been much traction on
making it happen (Microsoft-wise).

Oh I wasn't specifically aiming at Microsoft, no worries.
Google is brilliant at it though, unless of course you allow that nasty
cookie of theirs, which I simply refuse, too much data mining going on
there.

no i do not know how to disable this. But just be carefull with address and
once u have selected a languge on a web site it remembers this,

Also i.p is your computer address. Yes every website , game you play etc
gets your ip address this enables directors etc to moniter there website,
also the fbi would need your ip to charge you if you have hack etc.
