FrontPage 2000 won't connect to remote

Hi --

My Win-ME desktop died, and I got a new Vista Home Premium based Laptop to
replace it. After installing FrontPage2000 {an upgrade from FP98} it will
not connect to my remote site {with extensions} so that I can publish it to
my local drive. I have tried the 'help repair' option and it runs
successfully and reports that everything is OK. Otherwise it 'seems' to be
working.

Any attempt to connect to the remote gives a message:
The folder "http://Web site" isn't accessible. The folder may be located on
an unavailable volume or protected with a password.

I never get the dialog to enter my UserID/Password, like I normally would

This is addressed in Q264749 ...see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264749/en-us ...but does NOT offer a
solution specific to Vista.

I tried to 'right-click' and set FP program to run as admin, but that option
is grayed out. I have also googled for similar problems and have found some
without resolution. After searching this forum, I have found a few that may
be related, such as:
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/com...344f98&m=1&p=1
...but don't seem to provide a resolution.

BTW, I have a Win2000 Pro system at work with FrontPage 2000 and it opens my
remote just fine, as did my previous system with Win-ME.

Got any ideas on how to resolve this?

TIA for your help,

--Rich

Looks like you just might have to continue using your desktop with Win2K on
it. From what I've seen, FP2000 just might not be compatable with vista.

How about a later version of FP or even a newer solution if you want to use
Vista?

FP is OK on Vista, I use it but FP extensions may not be. Best to download
FileZilla from www.sourceforge.net and use FTP instead.
