QuickBooks 06 is not compatible with either a 32-bit or 64-bit version
of Windows Vista. You'll need to upgrade to at least QuickBooks 2007
and it will run fine on a 64-bit version of Windows Vista. So will FrontPage 2002.

>So will FrontPage 2002.

It has been documented and reported since beta that FP will crash when
inserting hyperlinks.

Kindly stop spreading your misinformation.

FrontPage up to 2003 will crash when one is inserting hyperlinks in Vista
and since it has been discontinued, so it's not likely there will be no
fixes.

Up to, but not including 2003. FP2003 works fine here.

Hi,

Have you tried to insert hyperlinks in Design view (not split nor code
view)? This is when the crash will happen and has been reported and
confirmed so many times.

Maybe they have fixed it and I don't know about it.

"They" have done nothing that I'm aware of. I can insert hyperlinks
at will in Design view without a problem.

Just did a few to make sure I wasn't imagining things.

Thanks.

I cannot duplicate since I stopped using FP for some time.

I guess the only way for the OP to find out is to try it himself or refer to
others'
experience (and see if there are any solutions):

For ten years or more, Microsoft has been ragging on developers to NOT use
the registry as a scratch-pad. Intuit ignored this injuction and used the
registry to hold inter-program communications, user names, clam-chowder
recipes, and other what-nots.

With Vista, Microsoft ENFORCED the prohibition. This rendered all QB
versions prior to 2007 incompatible.

Now more confused. Should I just stay on XP? I am not a computer expert
as being a small business owner I have little IT support. I understand
all new machines force Vista and mine is limping along. Seems unfair
that MS would not disclose to basic users. Instead forcing $$$$$ in new
version software and new learning curve.
Advice? Vista is junk?
