I think I messed mine up one time because of the lack of a good file purging
system for your backup device; I probably did it wrong and got a weird
message.
Anyway, I simply formatted the backup disk and started over. It worked fine
until the backup disk filled up again. Now I think I understand what they
are doing better and am tediously deleting until the "full" error message
goes away.
Don't know if that's your problem, but since it doesn't work anyway, you
might try it. Make sure you format your backup disk; not your system disk.
