full mode for games

i'm having a problem..i can't run any game in full mode with the vista
ultimate x64. is there a way to fix this in vista. i mean..my husband has the
same computer (basically a twin). and he can run games in full mode. why
can't i run games in full mode?
its a amd x64 fx x2
nvidia geoforce 7600 gt
2 gb of ram
running in background is kaspersky and roboform.
please i need help here
