Using WM6 and Activesync 4.5.
Set to sync with Windows PC and set to keep the device version in case of a
conflict.
Occasionally it comes up with an error saying the something has changed on
the server which requires a full resync. If I allow this it wipes all the
voice dialling tags from my contacts, which is *extremely* annoying.
Is there a way of either preventing this from occurring or at least
preserving the voice tags on a resync?

I've had same problem several times in past month. Quite annoying - all
changes since last sync lost, voice tags and ring tone assignments lost.
Cannot figure out what is causing "change of server".

Maybe a marketing ploy for MS Voice Command Seriously, Voice Command
works without any training/pre-recording of tags. It recognizes your speech
and finds that contact. I find it works quite well. No it doesn't do speech
to text in documents, but it does offer a lot of canned commands, on top of
the contact recognition.

Just mentioning this as it wouldn't be wiped with a re-sync. I'm curious. If
you have a contact voice-tagged, and you make a change on the desktop side,
new phone number, spouses name, does it wipe the voice tag on the mobile?
My understanding is that the contact is rewritten when a change is made, in
whatever direction. Since the desktop doesn't have a tag, I could see that
it would wipe the tag on the mobile, but not the other way. If it is doing
that it is a serious failing (bug) IMHO

Thanks for the reply Sven. I created a voice tag and did a sync. Then I made
a change to the contact I recorded the voice tag for (made change on laptop).
Did another sync and change synce through and voice tag is still in place.

Real question is what causes the "Change of Server" requiring a full resync
and even if that occurred it would be OK if the phone took precedence on the
sync - but that is not an option.

Don't know. Just wondered if it kept the tag on a single item sync. Guess it
wipes the whole database on a full resync. Don't know why it might be giving
a Change of Server indication.

This is getting very frustrating. In order to do a full synch all individual
ring tones, contact pictures, etc. are wiped out. This should not be doing
this. Is there no explanation out there?
