Though this doesn't properly belong in a Vista
discussion group, I'll answer because there's a tenuous
link to our computers' operating systems...

Intelligent voice recognition/processing/synthesis will
change our lives. In science fiction, actors spoke to
their environment and got competent answers - that will
become reality. Clearly, the most efficient and natural
interface between a human and anything else is speech,
not fingertips...

It's already being introduced by such companies as
Rubidium, and penetration will accelerate. The
capabilities of voice recognition, speech synthesis,
text-to-speech, and speech-to-text will grow faster than
other computer-human interfaces.

I foresee a day in the near future when you will
activate your closed laptop via voice command, and have
a meaningful discussion with it.

So my answer is: speech-to-computer communication.

I'm hoping some kind of automated, anti-spam, anti-fly-posting technology.
We can only hope!

How can you press " '2' for Spanish" on a closed laptop?
