I'm using Vista Home Basic and I recently installed Google Desktop which has
its own Sidebar that overrides the Windows Sidebar Gadgets. After using the
Google Sidebar, Windows Sidebar no longer appears. The UAC Control is
enabled. Do I have to go into and edit the Registry with RegEdit? There must
be a simple fix, somebody please help.

Hi,

Uninstall the Google Desktop, this isn't the only problem it has caused. It
is blocking the Windows Sidebar, it's part of how the software is designed.

UAC has nothing to do with this, nor would editing the registry do anything
to fix it.
