I know how to turn on the Windows Sidebar in Vista -- but, is it possible to
do that in Win 7?

Many thanks for any help!

OF course there is, because MS always maintains compatibility with
previous releases when it comes to the user interface and makes it
easy for a user to move from one version to the next! Oh... wait...

Try the first two links in this google search. They should answer all
your questions: http://tinyurl.com/ykbgjqg

I was referring to the feature that reserves the space for the gadgets,
regardless of what else you might be running, such as Internet Explorer.

I have a 17" screen on this laptop and don't need that much space on any of
my applications. Besides, if the space is reserved for gadgets, I can ALWAYS
see the clock, calendar, etc. Guess I just didn't make myself clear. Many
thanks, Russ -- nice try.

Actually, Russ is right. His try was more than just nice, it was
correct.

The Sidebar is gone, but the gadgets happily reside on the desktop
anyway.

I put my gadgets in the same area where the Sidebar used to sit. YMMV.
