I posted in a MS games forum and got no response, so I'll try here. Does
anyone know of a Hearts games that can be played among users on a home
network running Vista Home Premium and XP?

Thanks to the two responders. The only LAN-capable game I could find was Fat
Cat Hearts, however, it requires IPX/SPX protocol. Vista does not support
that protocol, according to online help.

Well the people who write the software say it's Vista compatible.
Try talking to them.

can be installed on 32 bit Vista, but not 64 bit.

It runs on Vista. Just can't play over LAN because of IPX/SPX issues. IPX
can be installed on 32 bit Vista, but not 64 bit.
