Gears of War ?

Some time ago I purchased this game only to have my laptop crash almos
instantly everytime I tried to play it. Is this a vista issue or
hardware issue. I am running the following:

AMD TURION(tm) 64 x 2 Mobile Technology TL-62 210 GHz
3 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

I would welcome any suggestions.
