generic host problem

A client got the latest windows updates. Now he has lost all
connection to the net.

Error message is " generic host process has encountered a problem".

0x7588baaO is the location.

Any solution.

In my case, removing IE 7 fixed the problem.

More generally, the solution is to install a particular update even
though the MS page with this update doesn't mention the error. See the
first sentence of
