Genuine Advantage update fails for XP SP2

I have a laptop on which the Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)
update will not install. It seems to stop during the download, and I get the
error code 0x80200010.

I have seen many posts with this error code, but they all involve Panda
software being installed. I do not have Panda installed at all. I have
McAfee Security Suite (latest version).

I've tried this update several times - tried clearing the files in the
SoftwareDistribution/Downloads folder, tried restarting the Updates service -
nothing seems to work.

Followup:

I got past this by following a link someone posted here that ran the Genuine
Adv. tool directly. Then I could see updates but it would fail to download
them...

I ended up having to register a list of dlls (from another post here).

> regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll
> regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll
> regsvr32.exe wups.dll
> regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll
> regsvr32.exe atl.dll


I also did wintrust.dll

Seems to have worked fine after that.
