Genuine Vista RTM ??

I recently ordered 500 Vista desktops and 150 Vista laptops from a vendor
preloaded with a RTM edition of Vista Business. When we started loading
Office 2007 this week, the Windows Installer stopped four times with errors.
Vista gave a message saying we should upgrade to the retail version of Vista
(I wish I could send a screenshot). After checking the build level we saw it
was build 6000. My team checked some MSDN blogs and saw build 6000 is not
viewed as a genuine Vista build. What do I do?! If this is the case, I'm
not going to be able to meet my SLA with my Enterprise users.

HELP!!

Wow... I'm a little surprised you agreed to an "RTM" edition for an
enterprise effort, but...

If it were me, at this point I would first contact the original vendor and
try to "make" them get this corrected (by contacting their MS rep if
necessary), or if that fails, contact MS directly and see if they can
provide any workaround for you. Tough issue.

BTW, I've found MS Office installer, on Vista, often will pop up unexpected
errors. Often hitting "cancel" will allow it continue until successful
completion. I'm not all that happy with the MS Office 2007 installer myself.

Version 6.0, build 6000 is the RTM build of Vista.
Visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click
on "Validate Windows" to see if the software is "genuine".

We're not manually loading...RIS. We didn't expect this to happen otherwise
this would be a non-issue.

Not my decision on the edition. If it were just my decision I would have
stuck with XP.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 I bought at Walmart and it came preloaded with
Vista Home Premium, Build 6000. I had no problems loading Office 2007 on
it.
