Genuine Windows

My computer has suddenly (after 2 or 3 years) shown warnings that my copy of
Windows is not genuine. Not only is it a bone-fide version pre-installed but
it is XP Home edition and the message refers to XP Professional. Although the
nag screens can be ignored I believe that I will not get any automatic
updates. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
