Brian: You should contact Microsoft Product Support for help getting SP2
installed.
Go to:
http://support.microsoft.com/
In the middle of the page is a section titled "Assisted Support". Click on
the link to select a product (XP Home, XP Professional, etc.) and you will
be taken to a page that will let you request email help, an online chat, or
a phone call. These guys are pros and can help resolve almost any install
problem.
