I get disconnected after seconds of connecting

Hello,
I've installed windows 7 recently and whenever I start my msn messenger
account, it gets connected and then disconnects before I can click on
anything. Then it gives me the message of "your connection with windows live
messenger has been lost. Reconnceting in .." and so on..

Any suggestions how to solve this problem??

Make sure Windows Live Communications Platform (wlcomm.exe) is not being
blocked by your firewall. I also had a virus once that would automatically
shut down WLCP when it started up, so also scan your computer for viruses.

Make sure that you really have a proven connection to the Internet. E.g.
start an IE connection first. Also, activate the WLM troubleshooting log
and look for clues in there.

FWIW I notice this with WLMessenger in my Startup (at least I think that's
how it's starting after a boot) and the same symptom happens. My guess is
that it is trying to use the "LAN" connection which is never connected to
the Internet. I am getting an automatic "dial" prompt then for the correct
connection (DSL/PPPoE) but for some reason that always fails. I was
planning on diagnosing this some more sometime and may do that sooner now.
