I get an error saying The dependency service or group failed to st

Our domain is controlled by server 2000. I bought 3 laptops with vista
business and when I joined them to the domain I get an error saying The
dependency service or group failed to start. What do I have to do to get them
back on line?

Check the event log for the error details. Also tell us if the errors are
server or workstation.
