How to get Power Pt audio comments to play?

In a Power Point presentation, I need to insert comments for each slide. It
seems that my attempts to add these comments by recording my voice were
successful for each slide (I clicked on the Insert menu, then Movies and
sounds, then Record sounds)--because now all the slides have the sound icon
(a loudspeaker icon). BUT when I play the Power Point presentation, one only
sees the slides, ones does not hear my commentary.

I use Windows XP and my version of Windows Office Suite was purchased in
about 2004. Many thanks to anyone who can tell me how to get the slide slow
to play with my commentaries audible for each slide. Thanks! Neil
