How to get rid of option to load Windows 2000?

Hi,

I have Windows ME on my desktop, and I tried unsuccessfully to install
Windows 2000.

Now, whenever I start my computer, it shows 2 options for OS - Windows 2000
and Windows ME, with Windows 2000 as the first option. So, I have to move the
cursor down to select Windows ME to continue loading the OS.

How do I get rid of the option so that the computer continues to load
Windows ME OS?

I didn't see any option for Windows 2000 under Add/Remove Program...

Thanks for any help.

-Amit

What is happening is that the NT Boot Loader from windows 2000 failed setup
XP is still on your hard drive's boot sector. To get rid of it you have to
boot with a bootdiskette type "fdisk /mbr".and enter That will get rid of
the boot loader and your system will boot windows me again.

Best regards,

Hi Michel,

I tried your suggestion and it did not take care of the problem. I still get
the two OS options when I boot up. Would you have any other suggestions?

Thanks!
