Where to get the Vista x64 disk

Hello--

I recently purchased an additional 2gb of memory for my pc. I then realized
that windows only displays about 3gb of that 4gb. I began researching it,
and found out about the 32-bit versions and their issues with 4gb of memory.
Now, I orignally purchased the windows vista premium upgrade to upgrade my
windows xp media center edition. I also have a bran-new windows xp 64 OS
that I could install. Here's my question: I know that if you buy the full
versions of Vista that they come with both 32 and 64 bit versions. Is there
any way to purchase the 64-bit disk if I already have the 32-bit version and
use my key? If not, can I send in my 32-bit upgrade version for the 64 one?
I would like to format my pc, install my new windows xp 64 and then upgrade
to the windows vista premium 64 so that I may see all 4gb of my memory.

Contact whoever sold you the Vista upgrade, they may or may not allow
you to exchange it. Good luck!

Only Vista Ultimate Retail editions come with both 32-bit and 64-bit disks.
If you bought a retail upgrade (32-bit) version, you can order the
corresponding 64-bit disk for a shipping fee. Your key will work for that.

If you have an OEM version it is either 32-bit or 64-bit. You can't order a
64-bit disk. Your supplier might be willing to exchange it for the 64-bit
version, but that is at the discretion of the supplier.

If you have a retail version of Vista, you should be able to
order the 64 bit DVD through this web site.

If you purchased retail, there should have been a piece of paper in
the package explaining how to order the 64 bit DVD and/or CDs:

If windows Vista is OEM, contact the seller for options.
You may have to exchange or purchase another license since OEM does
not have the same options as retail.
One of the many reasons OEM costs less than retail.

It's not just the 32 bit version that has problems with more than 3 GB
of memory. This patch applies to both the 32 and 64 bit version. I
installed it after contacting Corsair support when my new Vista 64
system would would BSOD with 4GB of memory. They directed me to the
patch and it worked great.
