Getting a bigger HD - problems ahead with authenticating ?

I've had problems in the past with authenticating my Vista Premium - and it
IS genuine by the way - every time I've had a problem and have had to
reinstall. The first time was the worst. 45 minutes on the bloody phone, and
even then I had to be given a new set of numbers. And three times since, and
I've had to go through the step by step business, because it wont
authenticate first time.
So - I am considering getting a 750gb HD to replace my 200 and use THAT as
main drive. Will I be forced into yet another 45 minute phone call to India
?

I left the main drive alone and added a 500 gig drive to my system and
had no problems at all. No phone calls, no activation problems, no
nothing Something to consider, as long as your main drive is not full.
What are you planning on doing with the old drive anyway, throw it
away?

Nope - either keeping it as a stand by or more likely, giving it to a mate
of mine who's comp is significantly underpowered, under-Xp-ed (Win98) and -
well, I've passed on a few things to boost what he has. (He even had a
CHINESE keyboard given him when he got the comp, F.G.S. !) I'll be passing
on a graphics card too as I've upgraded that today.

The new HD - no, I really wish to make the new much larger HD the main,
Vista-carrying HD.
I haven't got it yet, and am at present trying to gird my loins as it when
if ever, and telling myself "You don't sodden NEED it, you pillock !" but
this is my vice, I suppose - don't drink (much anyways - several with the
lads at weekends) don't gamble (at all) so.....

I'd like to know if there was a way I could kind of "warn Microsoft in
advance" as it where.....

No unfortunately there is not, it works on a point basis, each thing
you change equals a fixed number of points and when you get to a
certain number you will be required to call MS. I have forgotten the
points associated with each item but each item accumulates over 18
months and then drops off. So if you are close but the oldest item is
at 17 months and you wait and the new item keeps you below the number
you are okay. There ARE some things that cause an instant phone call,
but I don't remember what they are either right now.
