The "boot manager message" - you need to state exactly what it says in
these posts to get the best help. Posts with innacurate or half remembered
are often passed over by the experts. Its not that they wont help but cant
if they only have half a picture. If all else fails start another post with
the exact message and a list of actions you've completed.
I recently had this and other problems. I ended up do a clean install.
Are you all backed up? Can you get into safe mode and retrieve anything you
cant replace? The more procedures you try ( anything written to the hard
disk) the less likely it is to get info saved. F8 tapped repeatedly while
booting should bring you to the safe mode options or check your computer
documentation.
First try going back to the "last known good configuration" and if that
doesnt work to an earlier "restore point". You should be able to get these
options from the rescue disc if safe mode wont play ball.
