It's an annoying issue. No matter how many times i change the view o
folders [i like large icons] whenever the folder is closed and reopene
it's in list mode!

Is there anyway to get it to stay?

Also, in my 'pictures' folder i have a photoshop folder that i like t
keep arranged by "date modified" - any time i want to do this i have t
go to properties > custom > all items, as it never seems to "remember
what i've asked and 'applied' it to do

help x good = many thanks

i think everything you are looking to do can be found by just right
clicking and then
(view) for your icon size. and for photoshop folder (sort by) date
modified .

i know how to do it, but i want it to be the default view.. how do i do
this?

Also the photoshop folder ALWAYS reverts back to a 'picture' album,
where you don't have a "modified" option, onlt 'date taken' 'name'
etc....

Does this tutorial help ?
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70...-settings.html

My folder views and details have been steady since using it as long as I
don't click on the user's folder desktop shortcut. I have various
Windows Explorer shortcuts to certain folders instead. 'Computer',
'Network', 'Recycle Bin' behave themselves as well.
You may know that you can add individual columns by right clicking the
column header bar as well as customising.

1. go to any drive (c for example) and set the view of the folder'
2. now go to tools >> folder options >> view and press on apply t

The easiest way would be to purchase a third party file manager. Vista
folder customization is illogical and although the documented fixes
work for some people, a lot of people (like you or myself) have issues
with Vista remembering. I also have issues with the logic Vista uses
for selecting customized folder types - for some reason the folders in
my Music directory get set to image folders. And I am constantly
having to reapply settings in my picture processing folder hierarchy.

I researched that problem for quite a file and I finally found a solution
from reading this article:

Thanks, obviously, to the guy who put in all of the work figuring this out.

And to the person you got it from who saved you a whole lot of
Googling you could have done on your own.
