Hello everyone,
This morning i had to change the batteries in my wireless mouse, formy laptop
Did that and my mouse would not work after doing that. I thought maybe I had
to re-set them so i did so following the troubleshoot instructions..
no problems before all this happened by the way.

I went in and disabled my touchpad by accident, and now I can't get past the
welcome screen. So no mouse and keypad working.
I did the restore through F11 key and it went thru the process fine, but
still no go..
I think I messed up bad..
Anyone have any suggestions that could please help me.
I called Gateway and they claim I need a new harddrive(lucky for me I have
extended warranty).
I hope I did not leave anything out, but if I did let me know back.

many thanks in advance,
Florida Gal
Windows XP SP2 Home Ed. (laptop and desktop networked)

Hello again everyone,
update on my problem.First I scanned my disk for errors and followed
instructions for that and then I went into Safe Mode for Networking. (F8)
..and when asked at the prompt I chose to use System Restore..
It worked and no problems as of yet.. BTW, I did replace my mouse with a
brand new one..

all the best,

hi everyone,
just one quick question to follow..I am showing alot of updates on windows
update page..my pc was up to date on all updates prior to this problem i had
with Safe Mode.
the only ones I had not installed was the ones this month..
Since I did system restore only back to June 1,2006, why are all these
updates showing up?
I haved checked them by Add/Remove programs and they are all there with the
exception of this months several updates..
do i just download this months updates only? any help would be appreciated.
sorry it was so long,
