Hello Jim,

I do not know if you can get .PDF files to view in the Preview Pane or
not. For .JPG files, double check in this tutorial to make sure that the
Preview Pane settings is set properly.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/11...-explorer.html

Next, double check using this tutorial to make sure that Windows Photo
Gallery is set as the default program with all of it's associations set
for it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I appreciate your help - this is what I'm seeing (after uninstalling
re-installing Adobe Reader

On my Wifes computer (Vista/32) both jpg's & pdf's view correctly i
both the file pane & the preview panes

On My computer (Vista/64) All I see for .jpg is the generic MS viewe
icon in both panes but never a "thumbnail" imag

Also I can never see a thumbnail of a jpg in either window although th
file is associated correctly & launches the reader when clicked on th
the preview pane is blank

Thanks, Ji

Interesting - I got the .jpg's to work by changing a folder option tha
said to always show the icon & never thumbnails... (duh)..

But the .pdf's still don't work..

Nope - Just the "Adobe" icon for all explorer views.

If you're running Vista X64 bit OS you'll not see Adobe .pdf thumbnails
in Explorer.
You'll just see the Adobe icon. That is normal and it is an Adobe thing.
However, you should be able to see the thumbnails in the side view when
you open Adobe Reader.

Hey bozo, thumbnail views from Explorer of Adobe .pdf files has NEVER
been available in either XP Pro X64 or Vista X64.
Maybe they will be available in the upcoming 64 bit CS4...hopefully!
Oh, and Adobe has been aware of this for a long time now...like the very
day the first beta of XP X64 was released!
And to think you reformatted Vista cause you thought it was Vista's
fault?...hahaha!...LOL!

Vista 64 doesn't offer PDF preview functionality yet. Here is a threa
on Adobe's site discussing this very issue

I would suggest using FoxIt to get around this issue
