getting rid of messenger from Win7

Any advice on how to get rid of Windows Live Messenger without stuffing up
Windows Live Mail?
There are four entries in add remove programs that refer to messenger, but
none I could find about Windows Mail.
(I don't use Messenger but still want to use Live Mail for e-mail and News
Reader)

OS is Windows 7 Home on a laptop.
