Getting Rid of Narrator

OK - OK. I turned it on just to see what it was but now I can't get it out
of the startup menu. Every restart it comes back to life.
Vista help is no help when it comes to removing it.
Any ideas

Open control panel
Click on Optimize visual display under Ease of Access
Uncheck turn on narrator
Click on apply
Restart system
