If two devices are Gb capable and are both connected to a Gb switch, you
should get Gb performance. If the switch is 10/100, nothing connected to it
can run any faster.
On a Gb switch, you will only get Gb speeds between two Gb devices. Gb to
10/100Mb devices will run at the lower speed.
If you connect a Gb device to a port on your Netgear, it will not run at
Gb speeds. This device is a essentially a 10/100Mb switch with a built-in
modem. You would need to replace it with a Gb device to get Gb performance.
