I was given an update without my knowledge

Hi: I have Automatic Updates set so that I am asked before anything
downloads or installs. A few days ago I downloaded all the new updates
except the Malicious Software Removal tool. Today when I shut down my
computer I saw theUpdate shield and a message that when I turned the
computer off, updates would be installed. I went to the Security Center in
the Control Panel and found things set up as I thought, "Automatic Updates
is set up to download and install updates only after checking with you." A
check in the Windows Update History showded that I had been given the
Malicious Software Removal Tool I had rejected a few days earlier.

How can Windows Update update me without my consent if I have things set
this way? What do I do about this?

If you performed a default install of IE7, the MSRT is downloaded & run
during the installation process, Larry.
