Go Back to Sleep after Wake

My Vista Home Premium/x86/SP2 laptop is set up to sleep when the lid is
closed That works. It is also set to sleep after 25 minutes of inactivity.
That works. When it wakes up for scheduled tasks such as software updates,
even though the lid is closed, the laptop does not go back to sleep, network
stays active, etc. One result is a hot laptop and lots of fan time. Is
there a way to make sure it goes back to sleep?

You could make doubly sure of its observing its bedtime, by scheduling a
later task to actively put it to sleep eg scheduling the command

shutdown /h

would hibernate it. You can use this tool to schedule a sleep

PsShutdown v2.52
