Software manufacturers usually take awhile to catch up in making their
product compatible. A few months ago, Zone Alarm wouldn't even install on
Vista and a box popped up saying it's not compatible. But now with the Vista
version it's fine. I used the Windows firewall at first.
Avast virus works great on XP and it does work on Vista but sometimes it
freezes IE and large folders and other things can be much slower. I'm sure
it will work perfectly soon but isn't it just better to wait until these
things are sorted out before using Vista? And this is assuming that you have
a new PC. If you were to install Vista on a machine running XP for example
you may run into big problems due to incompatible older software. This is
the primary reason some people have problems with Vista and then say it's
crap.
