Hey guys.. Not sure if I should be asking a Google question here, but here
it goes....

I had installed the latest version of Google earth for a while now and
wokred great from the start, but I have not used for about a month or so,
and I decided to look something up last night and I am getting the MS error
message "Google Earth has stopped working" when I launch it.....

I have Vista Premium, and the only thing I can think of that has been
updated with Vista is I updated my Intel G31 video drivers recently... I
have also installed MS Virtual Earth (maybe MS is forcing G/E to not run so
we have to use MS's Virutal Earth )

The problem report in the control panel does not give any technical reason
why it stopped working...

thanks guys!....

The easiest way would be to uninstall G.E, then reinstall Google Earth.

Try this: uninstall Google Earth. Download and install Crap Cleaner from
www.ccleaner.com and run both the Cleaner and the Registry after a
reboot. Tick only the Google Earth entries in Registry and leave all the
others alone. Do the back up it offers you before nuking those entries.

Reboot.

Reinstall Google Earth.

Best thing to do then is contact GE support, as whatever it's doing is
causing an error in a system kernel file (ntdll.dll) which means it is most
likely receiving a bad or incorrectly formatted command:

Hey guys.. I think I found the problem.. I was able to install an old
version of GE 4.2, and it worked fine.. I was fooling around with the
option, and when I changed the display type from DirectX to OpenGL, and re
started the GE, I get the same error..

I have tried to find a GE.ini file to see about changing the option back to
DirectX, but I can not find such a file..
Does GE have a ini file I can access?, if so, where???
