Got 0x8007043B Error, Regedit Fix Didn't Work

I'm running Win XP Pro, and after SP2 install, I get the
0x800743B error while searching for Windows Updates. I
tried the add WUAUSERV and BITS to SvcHost process via
regedit (though I didn't see any Value Data under the
netsvcs key). That didn't work. I've searched high and
low for another fix, and found only a vbs (Virtual Basic)
script. I'm not going to learn Virtual Basic to fix
something SP2 broke, and I'm not going to sign up for
a .net Passport account to get online help. So what to
do? Wipe the drive and reload XP Pro and hope SP2 doesn't
prevent me from getting Windows Updates ... again? Or
what? Any help out there?

No need to learn VBScript, just put the finished VBScript code in
the link below in a file and run it by double clicking on it.
