And I really hate VISTA.

The combination of VISTA/IE7 is slow and clunky.

Microsoft figured out a way to take 2 GIG ram and a fast processor and
make them run like a 386 machine from 1995.

I know the VISTA true believers claim everyone who doesn't like VISTA
is a LINUX shill but that definitely not the case. I loved Microsoft
Windows up to and including XP.

I also have Office 2007 and it is terrible. Office 2003 is much
better.

I am stuck with this crap. I paid for it. Microsft is not going to
fix it. Shame on Bill Gates for sticking all of us with this dog of
an operating system.

I personally love Vista for a couple of reasons.

For one, the eyecandy of it looking like an macintosh display !
I don't think I could ever go back to the rather ugly XP desktop display.

For two, the ability of modifing and deleting stuff on my DVDs.

For three.,.....umm........****, can't think of anything else. :-)

But hey, at least it keeps your hard drive running overtime, right ? :-)

Seriosuly I love it, even if I did had to reinstall my PC back to my factory
specs when it
claimed my PC had a fALSe copy of Vista premium, even thought I bought it
from bloody Harvey Normam
which is the equalivent of Walmart in America.....

Mind you, I did accidently installed the same game twice which probably had
something to do with Vista thinking
I was naughty and not nice.

You want eyecandy? Here is Eyecandy. Just don't try this with Aero.

Doesn't take Vista to do that....

Probably because your first two points were already pretty weak =)

Ummm huh? How often you install a game is absolutely none of the operating
system's business....

Dell screwed up their Vista installations so bad that they now offer XP
again on many machines. I installed Vista on my Dell from a Dell Vista OEM
DVD (no additional crap) and everything works perfectly.

Much of the *extra* crapware that Dell supplies with their computers
(because they make money doing so) are NOT Vista compatible and cause all
sorts of problems.

A smart person will remove all this extra stuff ***before*** they even try
it out of curiosity.

A smarter person will order their Dell without any of this crap installed.

A really smart person will build their own computer and install only that
which "they" want installed. But then, if you have problems, you don't have
anyone to blame but yourself. <grin>

I umm.... installed the same game twice, meaning I created a duplicate.
This really caused head aches and it all came to an end when Microsoft
locked my computer
telling me I was using an ingenuine version of windows. ****, I wasn't even
able to shut down
or use the net to try to get help, LOL !
A reinstall fixed this however. Mind you, I was ****ed that I wasn't able to
backup
stuff I had on my 'puter.

Best to have a few drinks when things go pear-shaped
and start again... :-)

with Ubuntu Linux installed.

Really ... it's kinda hilarious, in a way! First computer in '68, ran a
FidoNet BBS in the 80's, co-wrote the first windows Fido mailer (WinMail),
beta tested Win 3.11, 95, 98, NT4, 2K (skipped ME and XP altogether), MSN
when Uncle Gus was 'still smiling', MVP'ed for awhile, co-wrote modem to
modem file sharing program(QuickSend) before getting into tcp/ip, ran a
small, NT networked, Internet company for 14 years, and a recording studio
for 20 running ProTools on a you-know-what. In short, one of the last you
would probably expect to embrace the "Vista Experience".

..... and two weeks ago bought a refurbished Dell XPS M1210 notebook from
their Outlet Center that just happened to come loaded with Vista Business .

.... and that little sonofagun purrs like a sleek cheeta, and I love it!

Sorry about your experience, but go figure ...

I certainly hope so! ... I hosted his wabi site on one of my web servers for
about ten years, but have lost touch with him lately. I ocassionally got a
package from him and Gina until about two years ago. The last was loaded
with hummingbird photo cards with photo's that he took.

I need to check/ping him. I keep forgetting how old we're old getting.
